The Stalker is a Tier 2 Mercenary. It has the ability to Blink, which is to move a short distance, and upgrade to Stalker Lancer, which greatly improves the attack speed, but decreases damage against overall. It also has increased shields and increased health. It is ideal for defeating large number of biological units, such as Cracklings or Teched Marines.
Stalkers can be countered by Marauders early game, due to the Marauder's high +Armored Damage, so beware of feeding your opponents, Stalker's and Stalker Lancer's give huge amounts of bounty rewarded, so good micro is essential.
There is also an optional Merc Shop upgrade which reduces the Stalker's bounty awarded, and also slightly increases armor and shield capacity.
Throughout version 0.9.9, Stalkers were a favorite among all players, they were an extremely powerful merc and the usual choice for new players, since they were such well rounded against everything, this derived the name "Stalker Arena" during the times it was declared that the stalker was "OP". Since v1.0, Stalkers are now threatened by anything +Armored damage and are only well used by skilled players.
Activating "Kull Warrior's Code" (see the help menu "Special Thanks" tip), will change the name of all Stalkers to "Kull Warrior"s, as a special thanks to Kullwarrior for his beta testing of Marine Arena.
